Snowy Valentine’s Day Video

We had a snow and ice storm last night. The snow wasn’t good for building snowmen but was perfect for sleding and tabogganing… so off we went. Mommy had to cancel snow time with the kids and this evenings Valentine’s plans due to work but that didn’t keep the kiddies and me from enjoying the day.

Enjoy the video (shot on cell phone) of the girls playing in the snow.

Tammy cast a hex on me! Blowout on Hwy 202 in Phoenix.

I was driving on Hwy 202 around Phoenix yesterday afternoon. Tammy called to tell me she had just gotten a flat tire and she wanted to know whether her tire salesman was giving her good advice?!? While I was explaining tire safety and she was arguing with me that she didn’t have the time or the patience for the safest solution, a “ding dong alert” sounded from the dash in the MINI Cooper I was driving. At the same time, an icon indicating low tire pressure became illuminated on my dash. Yes! That’s correct. Tammy called me about her flat tire in Virginia and at that exact moment I had a blowout on Hwy 202 in Phoenix… 2000 miles away!

Tammy hasn’t been able to elaborate on the hex that she cast on me. The best we can figure is that the universe became misaligned because Tammy asked a man for help. We aren’t sure if this was the case as Tammy admitted that while she had made the step to ask for help she had no intention to use any of my suggestions and didn’t even remember what I said.

Tammy has assured me that she will never again ask a man for help. So, we should all be safe. If anyone else experienced anything similar yesterday please let us know.

Here are the pics of the brand new MINI Cooper’s flat tire.

Big Week for Ava… First Play-date, First Sleepover

Ava’s getting to be such a big girl. Two weeks ago Ava had her first play-date. Well, two to be exact. Ava’s friends had been inviting her for years but the timing never seemed to be right. As luck would have it, it was my weekend and Ava received invites from both Arushi and Yanna. I dropped her off at Yanna’s on Sunday and then on the following Monday holiday I dropped her off at Arushi’s. She had a fantastic time and was all smiles when I picked her up.

Since then, she’s been back to Arushi’s once. Taking a play from my Mr. Mom playbook, I have extended invitations to a few of her friends to come play at Daddy’s house. Hopefully we’ll be able to orchestrate more play-dates soon. I know Ava and Alexandra are excited to show off their bedrooms and toys to their friends.

The fun didn’t stop with the play-dates. Alexander and Allie’s baby boy, Cameron was baptized this past weekend. Johnny’s family came in town for the baptizm so I took advantage of the opportunity to invite their 5 year old daughter Ellie over for a sleepover. All three girls had a blast. Needless to say they were a little excited so getting them to bed was a bit of a task. As it turned out, this was Ellie’s first sleepover. She was an absolute angel and hopefully we’ll have more cousin sleepovers soon.
